Karsavina, Tamara. (1885–1978). Signed Photograph.
German-issued Apeda of NY doubleweight sepia matte portrait photograph of the great Russian ballerina, Ninjinsky's dance partner at Ballets Russes, who has boldly signed and inscribed in black ink across the lower margin, dating it 1927. Parts of the inscription lost to cropping along the left and right margins (though still legible), adhesive remnants to verso; else in fine condition. Trimming aside, this is a very attractive example of a celebrated figure who is quite rare in signed photographs. 6.15 x 9.3 inches (15.6 x 23.6 cm).
