He also created eternal works...and I delight to hear them in the evenings after my work is done. From my heart, your devoted Albert Schweitzer." Sold together with an original photograph of Schweitzer and De Bry, standing together on a Parisian street, 18 x 24 cm.

A fascinating pair of items from the great Alsatian organist, philosopher, theologian and physician who is remembered for his great Bach recordings and his inspiring work as a humanitarian. Schweitzer won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953 for founding the Lambarene Hospital in Gabon, west central Africa.
