Exceptional glossy photograph of the magnificent actor, shown shirtless on horseback in a still from the 1952 American Western film "Bend in the River" directed by Anthony Mann, one of Hudson's final films in a supporting part before hitting stardom as a Hollywood leading man. Four small pinholes to margin corners, otherwise in fine condition and an ideal uninscribed example. 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).
Obtained in person in the late 60s by Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
