Signed original photograph of the two great dancers as they appeared together on the same stage for the first time in the United States, July 28, 1983. The photograph signed and dated on the verso (the date of printing) by the photographer, "W. Reilly / 7.30.83" and boldly in red ink by Makarova across the image. She and Nureyev are shown with many bouquets of flowers following their appearance as guests with Roland Petit's Ballet National de Marseille at the Metropolitan Opera House. Both defectors from the Kirov Ballet, their partnership had only recently been renewed, having been cut short 10 years earlier during a contretemps onstage in Paris where Makarova had accused Nureyev publicly of dropping her.
