"Aquatint, in the manner of a water-colour drawing. The corner of a picture-gallery with a crowd of spectators peering at two pictures on the right. The most prominent are a short fat man, resembling caricatures of Captain Grose, and a dwarfish boy who stand in profile to the right. A man wearing a cocked hat, evidently standing on a bench, looks through a quizzing-glass at the upper picture. Two men in back view, one seated, one standing, look at pictures on the back wall, where a landscape is hung. The dress of both men and women is of an earlier date."
