Original large portrait lithograph of the remarkable Italian violinist and composer generally regarded as the greatest virtuoso in the history of the instrument, together with a clipped full signature "Nicolo Paganini / Paris Le 2 Mai / 1838." The signature measuring 8.5 x 2.3 cm, mounted to the lower right corner of the lithograph measuring 33 x 41.5 cm overall. Scattered small stains to the lithograph, edges a little rough, else fine.


This fine portrait is engraved by Édouard Pingret (1788-1875) after the drawing by Nicolas-Eustache Maurin(1799-1850), printed by Gihaut frères éditeurs.
