Book (36 page 12" X 12", signed in blue ink) with center fold and light handling wrinkles, small opening on cover at lower staple otherwise in very good condition. Records: Columbia Label #O2L 257 in HI-Fi 33rpm, play tested VG+ with some surface marks, no skips, a few pops on side 3, other sides play clean, no spindle marks. Box near mint, no splits, hinge intact with original inner sleeves.


The celebrated Brecht/Weill musical, "The Threepenny Opera" ("Die Dreigroschenoper") opened on 31 August 1928 at Berlin's Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, with Lenya creating the role of Jenny. The part became her breakthrough role and she later won a Tony Award for her performance as Jenny in the New York revival of The Threepenny Opera, which ran for 2,707 performances.
