Long studied with Marmontel and gave the first performances of Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin and the Piano Concerto in G, which was dedicated to her. Her many students at the Paris Conservatoire (1906-1940) included Fevrier and Francois and she performed frequently with Jacques Thibaud. Her many books include fascinating studies on Faure, Debussy and Ravel. She was a great friend of Mindinha and Heitor Villa Lobos, and an advocate for Villa-Lobos's music.
