202 x 140 mm. Laid down to publisher's heavy board with titling and imprint gilt. The image, a charming caricature, depicts Brahms in hat and long coat, walking, carrying an umbrella behind him. With "Dr. Otto Böhler's Schattenbilder" imprinted to head of board and "1902 Nachdruck Verboten" blindstamped to lower right corner of image. Board and corners slightly worn. Nicely matted.
Böhler executed a number of silhouettes of musicians and musical subjects, some issued individually as photographs in ca. 1900; a printed portfolio was published in 1914. The original photographs are rare.
