Five measure AMQS from the Tannhäuser prelude, boldly penned, signed and dated New York, April 20th, 1896 by the Hungarian conductor very closely associated with Wagner, whom he assisted in making the first fair copy of The Ring and who was conductor of the New York Philharmonic from 1891 until his early death seven years later. Nicely matted and framed with a sepia gravure photograph and in fine condition. 11 x 8 cm, 25 x 42 overall. Unexamined out of frame.
