Casals, Pablo. (1876–1973). Les Grands Interpretes - SIGNED. Geneva: Editions Kister. 1955. First edition. A magnificent book of gravure photographs of the important cellist, boldly signed with his name alone on the first free endpage. 31 pages, of which 16 are photographs. Edges lightly chipped, overall fine.

From the collection of Gregory R. Marshak, close friend of Casals and one of the primary organizers of the first Concours Pablo Casals in 1957. Marshak was the alias of Georges Rosenberg, brother of the pianist Maria Rey-Chazen (1900 - 1966), perhaps his original connection to Casals. Marshak was an important supporter of Bruno Schulz, who was very close to him and his sister.
