Stockhausen, Karlheinz. (1928 - 2007). 1972 Photograph Playing Guitar.

Vintage 1972 Keystone press photograph of an unidentified musician in the English Garden in Munich, from an event at which we understand Karl-Heinz Bottner and Michael Vetter played guitar, with Stockhausen was on sound projection, but we remain uncertain of who precisely is shown here. 6.25 x 8 inches (16.3 x 21.4 cm).

Verso press text reads: "In connection with the Olympic Cultural Programme in Munich, Stockhausen's "Starsound Parkmusic for five groups" was played in the English Garden in Munich. Five music groups, spread over the English Garden at distances of 80 to 100 meters, sang and played the piece, "Staroonstellations"(e.g. "Big Dippers"). Stockhausen's composition, which had its premiere in the Berlin Tiergarten last June, lasted three hours and, according to the Maestro, could only be performed at night in Keystone West Germany." Dated 08-08-1972.
