Graham, Martha. (1894–1991). Signed Program from the 1960 Capezio Dance Award. Program from the 1960 conferral of the Ninth Annual Capezio Dance Award, signed and inscribed by the winner of the honor, Martha Graham. She has penned on the title page: "For Mr. McMahon / Best wishes / Martha Graham." The program contains text, black-and-white photographs of Graham in many different performances, as well as photographs of the previous honorees (including Ted Shawn, Alexandra Danilova, and Sol Hurok.) 12 pp. 8.5 x 8 inches (21.5 x 20.6 cm).

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
