[Ballets Russes] Nijinsky, Waslaw. (1889-1950). Original 1916 Kansas City Program.
Uncommon original program from a December 13-14, 1916 performance of the Ballets Russes at the Convention Hall in Kansas City, MO, from the first American tour of the storied company. On the first night, Nijinsky performed with Lopokova in Le Spectre de la Rose and, with Lopokova, Sokolova , Bolm and others, in Carnival;  Price Igor and Cleopatre were also performed. The following evening, Nijinsky performed with Lopokova, Sokolova, Wasilewska and others in Les Sylphides and in L'Apres Midi D'un Faune, the evening also including performances of Thamar and a repeat of Cleopatre. 4 pp, crease to lower spine, toning and foxing to lower cover, two small holes likely from a program binder, else fine.  6 x 9 inches (15.2 x 22.9 cm.).
