A very fresh and clean impression, trimmed to .5 cm outside the plate mark, small chip to lower border and lower right corner creased just ouside the image. In 1671, Pecour made his debut as a dancer at the Court Theatre, Tuileries in Paris and at the Paris Opera in the ballet Cadmus. Pecourt became a leading dancer with the Paris Opera, creating many roles in works composed by Lully and choreographed by Beauchamps, including Le Triomphe de l'amour, Le Temple de la paix, and Armide. Pecourt was noted for his precision, lightness and grace.
