Cochin the Younger, 153 x 192mm., to a "Bal Paré" [grand ball] on the occasion of the Daupin's marriage 9 February 1747, the wording within an elaborate cartouche incorporating cherubs, musical instruments, garlands of flowers, a coat-of-arms, and a rising sun. In fine condition, with wide margins, a couple of small holes and stains well away from the plate edges. Approx 23 x 18 cm. Reference: Collection Michel Hennin. A very rare engraved entry ticket "Porte et gradins a droite" for the celebration following the marriage of the Dauphin, Louis, only surviving son of King Louis XV of France and his wife, Queen Marie Leszczyńska, to Maria Josepha of Saxony. The two had first been married on 10 January 1747, by proxym at Dresden. A second marriage ceremony took place in person at Versailles on 9 February 1747.
