A hilarious song by the popular English stage actor and composer, noted for his work in comedy. Collete, shown in the cover illustration, has boldly inscribed and dated the work 1893. On the back cover, he has penned the verses to another full song.
In part: "I sing a song of sciences, a pocket full of ologies. Like Herschell, Archimedes, Galileo rolled in one, How acurate and universal you will see my knowledge is."
In addition to performing, Collette wrote a number of his own works, including the "successful romantic extravaganza" improbably-titled "Cryptoconchoidsyphonostomata, or While It’s to be Had," which premiered with Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury in 1875.
