Peyer, Gervase de. (b. 1926). Collection of Signed LP Recordings. A wonderfully diverse collection of six signed LP recordings from the world's most recorded clarinettist who continues to record prolifically in his 80s.

Gervase de Peyer Recital (Weber, Schmitt, Debussy, Horovitz, Benjamin, Martinu); Brahms and Reger Quintets with Melos; Prokofiev and Shostakovich Quintets with Melos; Mozart and Beethoven Quartets with Melos; Mozart Eb Trio and Quintet with Melos; Schoenberg Op. 29 Suite and Berg Four Pieces, Op. 5 with Melos.

After making his US debut under Georg Solti, he went on to perform under many of the greatest conductors worldwide, and toured as the chosen soloist with both Paul Hindemith and Aaron Copland when those composers conducted their own clarinet concertos. In 1950 he was a founder member of the Melos Ensemble for whom he continued to play until 1974. From 1955 to 1972 he was principal clarinet of the London Symphony Orchestra and in 1969 was a founding member of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York with whom he continued to play for 20 years. As a conductor, he has performed with the English Chamber Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Melos Sinfonia, the London Symphony Orchestra Wind Ensemble and is currently the associate conductor of the Haydn Orchestra. Since 1959, he has taught at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
