Chenal created the title role of Roze's "Jeanne d'Arc" at Covent Garden on November 1, 1913. Son of the renowned English soprano Marie Roze, Raymond was a piano student of Arthur de Greef and founded the British Symphony Orchestra in the summer of 1919, shortly before his premature death.
