Signed and warmly inscribed in Italian to Chicago Opera member Marjorie Maxwell, dated "1921-1922" (while conductor of the Chicago Opera Company). 18 x 23 cm, in very fine condition.

He had a long and diverse carrer: acclaimed in Russia as an early Wagnerian interpreter, at the Metropolitan Opera (1912-1917) where he succeeded Toscanini as principal conductor of the Italian repertoire, in Buenos Aires, Rio, Rome, Milan, Covent Garden and lastly, Chicago.
