Gershwin, George. (1898–1937). Original Concert Program. Original concert program from a 1934 tour of the great American pianist and composer. Appearing with the Leo Reisman Symphonic Orchestra and tenor James Melton, Gershwin performed his hits Rhapsody in Blue and the Concerto in F, alongside An American in Paris and a selection of his songs, at the Orchestra Hall of Detroit on January 21, 1934. The tour, which covered 30 cities stretching as far west as Omaha, came at the height of Gershwin's fame, and only 3 years before his sudden death. 4 pp. With a nice photograph of Gershwin on the cover and further images in the inside pages; creases; overall in fine condition. 6 x 9 inches (15.2 x 23 cm).
