Neveu, Ginette. (1919–1949). Signed Photograph.
A very rare signed photograph of the brilliant French violinist, a prodigy who died tragically young. She is shown in a portrait photograph, playing her instrument, and has signed and inscribed at the lower right, dating July 1942. Some wear to the edges and rather poor contrast to the inscription; overall very good. 8 x 7 inches (20.5 x 17.8 cm). Only the second signed actual photograph of Neveu we have handled!

The young violinist gained international recognition when she won the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition at the age of 16. Tragically, she was killed at the age of 30 in a plane crash on her way to the US for a concert tour.
