Signed original doubleweigth Moffat photograph of the the Canadian tenor and arts administrator, since 1922 member of the Met ensemble and General Director of the opera house from 1935 to 1950. Inscribed to Mrs. Clark A. Shaw (then Executive Director of the Chicago Civic Opera). 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25 cm). Upper margin perished, else fine.
Johnson returned to Canada in 1950 as chairman on the Board of the Toronto Conservatory of Music (then part of the University of Toronto), where he participated in the establishment of the opera school, Canadas first and finest.
