Postcard portrait photograph of the English actress, who has signed and inscribed within the negative: "A star danced, and under that I was born, Ellen Terry."  Ca. 1902.  Inscription in ink in an unknown hand beneath reads: "Have I sent you this before / Philips".  Terry ruled the English stage in her day and was a favorite of George Bernard Shaw.  Mild foxing; overall fine.  3.4 x 5.5 inches (8.6 x 13.9 cm.).
