Original photograph of the important Irish novelist and playwright, who has signed and inscribed in black ink to the lower mount, "Für Dr. Renate Jacobi / mit allerbesten Wünschen, Berlin September 1971".  The photographer is unidentified. Dedication a shade light, overall in fine condition.  8.25 x 11.75 inches [21 x 29 cm] and set in a simple white wooden frame. 

At the time of the present inscription, Beckett was directing his Glückliche Tage (Happy Days) at the Schiller Theater Werkstatt in Berlin, September 1971 – a venue he would return to for many other productions of his own work.
