Cooper, Gary. (1901–1961). Signed Photograph from "Beau Geste.". Richly printed black and white matte photograph of Gary Cooper in a scene from the 1939 Paramount film Beau Geste, boldly signed and inscribed in black ink. Very fine. 8 x 10 inches. 

One of Hollywood’s most popular actors, Cooper appeared in more than 100 films and received five Academy Award nominations for Best Actor, winning twice for Sergeant York and High Noon. Cooper was also awarded a Special Academy Award in 1961 "For his many memorable screen performances and the international recognition he, as an individual, has gained for the motion picture industry." Cooper was too ill to accept the Oscar in person and his close friend, a tearful Jimmy Stewart, accepted it in his name. A month later, Cooper died of cancer at the age of 60.
