Louisiana Purchase (1941) was a film adaptation of the Irving Berlin stage musical of the same name. Satirizing Louisiana governor Huey Long, the plot concerns an honest U.S. Senator who travels to Louisiana to investigate corruption in the Louisiana Purchase Company, where the company's lawyer tries to distract him with the attentions of two beautiful women. Starring comedian Bob Hope, the film featured Norwegian ballerina and actress Vera Zorina, Victor Moore and Irène Bordoni reprising their stage roles.
