Chagall has signed boldly at the foot of the envelope, on which is affixed an entire miniature sheet of stamps which together make up the entire of his stained glass Memorial to Dag Hammarskjold at the United Nations. Postmarked United Nations, November 17, 1967. Slight smudging at the lower edge, envelope lightly wrinkled; overall in fine condition. 8.75 x 4 inches (22.5 x 9.9 cm).

Chagall's stained glass memorial was created at the request of the United Nations to honor the Swedish diplomat who was the second Secretary-General of the UN. It was unveiled in 1964 and features symbols of peace, motherhood, and human struggle.
