Bernstein, Leonard. (1918–1990) & Kennedy, Rose. (1890–1995) & Kennedy Onassis, Jacqueline. (1929–1994) & Kennedy, Edward "Ted". (1932–2009) & Stone, Edward Durell. (1902–1978). Signed "Mass" World Premiere Program with multiple signatures.
Printed program from the world premiere of MASS at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on September 8, 1971. Title signed by Leonard Bernstein (composer and librettist), Rose Kennedy (mother of John F., Robert and Edward "Ted" Kennedy), Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (J. F. Kennedy's widow), Edward "Ted" Kennedy (John F. Kennedy's brother; senator), and Edward Durell Stone (architect of the Kennedy Center). Stone inscribed the program to noted autograph collector Stephen Adamson. 128 pp. Near fine condition with only some subtle signs of age.

Bernstein's theatrical piece MASS, which incorporates the text of the Roman Catholic Latin mass and juxtaposes it with other texts in English, was composed at the request of Jacqueline Kennedy. Its premiere was the first performance ever at the Kennedy Center and, consequently, was a state affair. One of the composer's most ambitious and spectacular works, MASS became also one of his most controversial ones.
