Sondheim, a Williams alumnus, had been invited to a concert at Williams by duo Bolcom and Morris titled "From Stephen Foster to Stephen Sondheim."  He writes: "Thank you so much for the note and the notification. I would love to attend, but I'll be away. If you make a tape recording or a cassette of the concert, I'd love to hear it. Yours sincerely, Stephen Sondheim '50." Together with the original envelope. Very fine. 5.75 x 7.75 inches (14.8 x 19.6 cm).
