Autograph letter signed from the German composer known for his large output of lieder. Halle, January 13, [18]78; 2 pp. Translated from the German: "Dear sir! Thank you very much for your kind attention! The version which has arrived from you is from a very skillful pen [...] although I am not entirely in agreement with your changes to the composition and I would particularly dislike the interludes. However, I myself am planning arrangements of my songs, and among the numbers published by Sander, I will try to locate a few which would be suited to being arranged for mixed choir, in order to publish them. Yours, Rob. Franz." Light toning, but overall in very fine condition. 5.5 x 8.5 inches (14.3 x 22 cm).
