Ysaye, Eugene. (1858–1931). Signed Photograph with Violin, framed. Impressive vintage, sepia-toned photograph signed "E. Ysaye" by the violinist, composer and conductor. Ysaye is seated,looking at his violin, with his bold signature and date of 1921 in red ink on the 1 1/2" white lower border. Area of silvering in the center covers lower portion of his violin but does not effect overall content of the photo. Custom framed in cream matte and gold toned wooden frame. Frame: 15" x 18 1/2". Photograph: 7 1/2" x 10 3/4". 


Carl Flesch called him "the most outstanding and individual violinist I have ever heard in my life," and he was the dedicatee of many major works from Debussy, Saint-Saens, Franck, Chausson and others.
