With the recent and welcome news that the Pentagon is lifting the ban on women in combat roles, we present this unusual piece of sheet music from the final year of the First World War. In part:
"What an Army of men we'd have, if they ever drafted the girls. There'd be no work-laws in sight, Each old man would insist that he'd fight / They'd all flock and enlist as one / No recruiting would need to be done....Each time they'd make an attack, They would bring a whole regiment back / All the foe then would just retreat, Girls would never stand for defeat."
