Signed and inscribed in black ink on the lower border slug to dancer Fayard Nicholas, of the famous dancing team The Nicholas Brothers, and his wife Geraldine: “To Gerry & Fayard, stay happy, Billie Holiday”. With a divot cut from the left lower border under Holiday’s chin backed by black construction paper not affecting image. Trimmed unevenly and with mounting residue on the verso. Despite these evident condition faults, a nevertheless beautiful image at a bargain price!


Revered as one of the greatest and most individual vocalists in the history of blues and jazz, she died from cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 44.
