[Violinist] Bouchardon, Edmé. (1698 - 1762). 18th Century Portrait of a Violinist. An interesting etching, ca. 1750, of an unidentified violinist by the French sculptor who was esteemed by many as the greatest sculptor of his time and valued as a painter and draughtsman as well. Signed in the stone "Bouchardon In" lower left and "C1" lower right. On laid paper, unexamined out of the mat and frame but in apparently fine condition. Approx. 7.5 x 12 inches [19 x 30 cm], frame overall 15 x 18 inches [38 x 46 cm].
