Caption on verso reads: "Old Friendship - Twenty years ago in Petrograd, Feodor Chaliapin...autographed a portrait sketch to Gregory Ratoff. Here is Ratoff displaying the sketch to Chaliapin on the occassion of the latter's recent visit to Hollywood, during which he watched Ratoff at work in 'Sing, Baby, Sing,' the musical farce now in production at 20th Century-Fox. Ratoff keeps the picture of Chaliapin in his dressing room."
