He is shown planting "a lilac bush he brought back from the Soviet Union beside the grave of Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff at Kensico Cemetery here May 31st. Cliburn placed soil from the grave into a container and gave it to a representative of the Soviet Embassy for shipment to Russia." In fine condition, an unusual and moving photograph.
