Original atmospheric Anton Sahm of München photograph of the German bass-baritone in costume as Amfortas in a production of Parsifal.  Signed by the photographer to the lower margin of the photographer's mount and also with his stamp to verso.  Mount unevenly trimmed, else in very fine condition.  Approx. 7 x 10 inches (17.8 x 25.4 cm.).

Hans-Hermann Nissen was a member of the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich for four decades, where many of his most acclaimed performances came under the musical direction of Clemens Krauss.  Best known for Wagnerian roles, Nissen also had great success in the operas of Verdi and Mozart.
