Softcover, perfectbound in photographic wrappers. 87 pp. Creases along spine and rubbing, small dents to edges, else fine. The copy of the prolific American director, producer and screenwriter Sidney Lumet, sold together with a TLS on Bernard Delfont-Arthur Lewis letterhead presenting the volume to him, dated 18th August, 1967 from the secretary to Mr. Arthur Lewis (1916 - 2006), noted theatrical, film and TV producer.

Loot is a two-act play by the English playwright Joe Orton, a dark farce that satirises the Roman Catholic Church, social attitudes towards death, and the integrity of the police force.  It won the queer Leicester-born playwright the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Play of 1966. The present paperback edition was published simultaneously with the hardback.
