The Piano Sonata No. 13 in E-flat major "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 1, was composed in 1800–1801. Written in a fantasy style, it is notable for the absence of Sonata form in any movement, where instead, Beethoven uses formats which repeat entire sections (Binary form and Rondo). All four movements are connected with one another.
