In French, in full: "I ask you to please accept my most sincere thanks for the démarche [maneuver] you had the goodness to make with Madame Yvette Guilbert which has led to the desired result. Please accept, my dear Maitre, the expression of my distinguished sentiments."



Yvette Guilbert was a renowned French actress and cabaret singer who was immortalized in a number of works by prominent Belle Époche poster artists Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Jules Cheret. She is prominently featured in the "Belle Époque" section of the present catalogue.
