Brain, Dennis. (1921 - 1957). Signed 1957 Trio Program. A very rare signed Scottish program from the British virtuoso horn player largely credited for popularizing the horn as a solo classical instrument. The present program is from an appearance with the trio he founded with pianist Wilfrid Parry and violinist Jean Pougnet, both of whom have also signed. On 1 September 1957, Brain was killed driving his Triumph TR2 sports car home to London after a performance at the Edinburgh Festival. He was just 36 years old. His autograph is of the utmost rarity.
