Polish pianist, Alexander Lambert toured with Joachim and was encouraged early on by both Rubinstein and Moszkowski who arranged for him to stufy with Liszt in Weimar. A major soloist, he later became an important teacher and was director of the New York College of Music for 18 years. The inscription is to Siegfried H. Kahn, a member of the famed New York Bohemian Club and a famous host of musical parties in the 1920s and 30s.
