Tetrazzini, Luisa. (1871–1940). Signed Postcard Photograph. Signed postcard photograph of the legendary coloratura soprano, who has elegantly penned "Souvenir de Luisa Tetrazzini / Boston / 1911." Overall silvering and rather poor contrast to the inscription, but overall in very good condition. 3.5 x 5.5 inches (8.7 x 13.8 cm).

Known as “The Florentine Nightingale,” Luisa Tetrazzini was extremely popular in the United States and was a star of the San Francisco Opera. The famous dish "Chicken Tetrazzini" was named for her, though sources differ as to whether it was created in San Francisco or by Chef George A. Escoffier of The Savoy in London.
