Caruso, Enrico. (1873-1921) . Large Signed Oval Format Mishkin Photograph. Original sepia Mishkin photograph of the great tenor, signed and inscribed in bold white ink "Al Nobile artista Marchese Piero Petacci de...Enrico Caruso." Small area of surface loss interrupting the end of the inscription and just touching the end of the signature, unexamined out of frame but otherwise in apparently fine condition.  Visible part of photograph measuring 7.5 x 9 inches, framed to approx 10.5 x 12 inches overall. 

The recipient was the Marchese Piero Petacci (1885 - 1936), member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Chicago, IL who was also involved with the associated initiative to form a "Caruso American Foundation" for the study of music and voice by disadvantaged youths of all nationalities.
