Original William Gottlieb black and white photograph of the important American jazz composer, bandleader and pianist, circa 1946-48; printed circa 1979. Gottlieb, who has signed his name and added a copyright symbol to the lower left, captures Ellington mid-laugh in the reflection of his dressing room mirror.  Gelatin silver print, printed later.  Photographer stamp to verso.  In fine condition.  Sight: 10.5 x 13.5 inches (26.7 x 34.3 cm.), framed to 16.75 x 21 inches (42.5 x 53.3 cm.).
