In German. No date. 1 p. Bifolium; graph paper. Translated in full: "Dear Mr. Spanuth, I have just received a telegram that calls me to England immediately. I myself am desperate. Sometimes all world turns against you. London, address: Schultz [!] Curtius. Most cordially Yours F. Busoni." 

Busoni was one of the most influential figures in German music life in the early 20th century, in particular championing musical modernism on the one hand and J.S. Bach on the other. August Spanuth (1857-1920) was a pianist, composer, and writer on music. From 1906 he taught as the Stern Conservatory in Berlin. There is one letter from Busoni to Spanish at the State Library in Berlin (Mus.Nachl. F. Busoni B I, 1096a+b), dated April 20, 1912. Alfred Schulz-Curtius (ca. 1853-1918) was a German-born impresario active in London from 1876.
