Striking 1896 lithograph portrait of the great musicians performing at the Salle Pleyel by French painter, illustrator and cartoonist, Abel Faivre.  Inscribed within the matrix to the lower right: "aux maitres Ysaye et Pugno / irrespectueux Hommage Abel Faivre."  Scattered foxing and small stains especially to mount, laid down to a larger sheet, else fine.  22.5 x 17.5 inches (57.2 x 44.5 cm.).

A member of the Société des Artistes Français, Faivre created propaganda posters for the French Army in World War I and drew comics for Le Rire, L'Écho de Paris, and Le Figaro.
