Card signed in full by the outstanding German-born conductor, who also adds a neatly-penned G clef below his autograph.  Stationery of Claridge's Hotel, London.  Oblong format, 5.5 x 3.75 inches (13.8 x 9.5 cm).  Together with period  postcard photograph of the conductor, styled "K[öniglich] B[ayerischer] Generalmusikdirektor," by "Adèle," Munich.  Upright format, 5.25 x 3.5 inches (13.6 x 8.8 cm).  Mounted as an ensemble, upright format, 10 x 5.75 inches (25.4 x 14.7 cm).  In fine condition. 


Walter held the position in Munich from 1913 to 1922.  He had adopted Austrian citizenship in 1911 and made his stage name (used since 1894) official on this occasion; his birth name was Bruno Walter Schlesinger.
