Hart, Moss. (1904–1961). Signed Photograph. Signed photograph of the important American playwright and theatre director, who is shown holding a pipe in a dramatically-lit portrait and has signed and inscribed at the right. Very slight wrinkling at the top edge, but overall in very fine condition. 7.75 x 9.75 inches (19.6 x 25 cm).
Though he collaborated with Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Rodgers and Hart, Moss Hart's biggest hit by far was the musical "My Fair Lady" (1956), adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The show ran over seven years and won a Tony Award for Best Musical, with Hart picking up the Tony for Best Director.
